Here’s my Winglights review – an innovative product that could help to improve your safety when cycling in busy traffic.
The developers of Winglights were inspired to make the product after several bad experiences and near misses whilst cycling around London.
The result is an innovative set of lights that attach to your (preferably straight) handlebar ends. Simply tap them on and off to activate the flashing amber lights, and immediately improve your visibility.
Find Winglights at Amazon (US)Bicycle indicators?
All motorised vehicles have flashing illuminated lights to declare the intended direction of travel. Some drivers even use them occasionally!
But we cyclists have been left behind technologically, having to make do with the age old method of sticking your arm out. It’s all so old fashioned.
But not anymore.
Now you can get hi-tech with your bicycle signalling with Winglights.

Installing the Winglights.
Who likes messing about with spanners, getting oily and wasting lots of time?
Me neither, and you’ll be pleased to know that installing the Winglights is incredibly simple and takes about sixty seconds.
Just watch my video to prove it.
Caveat
As I mention in the video, (and this was also reflected in my conversation with the designer of the product), this isn’t really intended for road bikes. The geometry of road bike bars doesn’t really work well, especially given the narrow width.
But on a flat bar, they will definitely make you more visible, and improve your safety on the roads.

Who knows, they might even inspire some car drives to start using their indicators too!

They do look interesting, too bad they would have to take the place of my bar end mirror, which I feel is more important to safety.
