A few years ago, when you could buy extremely low powered smartphones, it was quite common to find that some models struggled to run certain apps.
I remember cursing my HTC wildfire as it struggled to run MapMyRide (this was just about before Strava exploded onto the scene…”)
In those days, I would often recommend a great and free app by Google, called MyTracks. This was an extremely lightweight app, meaning it would run on anything. You didn’t need a high powered device.
Sadly, I’ve just learned that Google is to retire MyTracks from April 30th, 2016.
If you still use MyTracks, you might want to export all of your data, so that you can import it into something else, like Strava, or Garmin Connect. (Of those two, I’d recommend Strava.)
