What lasts 6 minutes and leaves you in a sweaty heap, gasping for breath and with your heart trying to leap out of your chest?
Of course, it’s the Rhuallt Hill Climb.
Essentially, it’s a very long hill which you must attempt to get yourself up as fast as you possibly can. On your bike, obviously.
I’m hoping to attend and participate in this public display of insanity this evening. Quite why, I can’t be sure. One of the guys did mention that I’d probably do well at the hill climb because I’m relatively lightweight, at just over 11 stone.
Well OK, that’s one side of the equation but power:weight ratios are as much about power as they are about weight.
I’m not that competitive, but it is nice to be able to evidence progress. So with this in mind, I’ll draw my line in the sand, with no particular regard for its relative position to anyone else’s.
But I might just sneak a peak.
