I should know better, but I couldn’t resist this little bit of daftness. Not far into the much hyped “killer mile” – the main attraction of the Cheshire Cat route perhaps, I realised that as a North Wales cyclist who likes my hills, I wasn’t going to have too many problems getting up the fearful Mow Cop. Added to that, I’d only just upgraded my stock wheels to something a little lighter, and they felt fabulous – like having a perpetual tailwind, or a big helium balloon (albeit a very aerodynamic one) attached to the bike.
Thinking back to my daft Horseshoe Pass video, it was a spur of the moment decision to make a Mow Cop Mario film, and here it is in all its ridiculousness.
Click the little settings icon to increase the resolution to 720 or 1080 for MUCH better quality!
I did take some nice bits of footage on a few other sections of the course, and may edit them into a little something. (But it takes so loooong!)
Well you made that ride up look easy – of course with most of your riding being in Wales you are no doubt used to proper mountain climbs. I was shocked as to how many riders were walking long before the steep bit.
Would be interested to learn what gearing you were using – 39 x 23 by chance or a tad easier ?
Thanks! Compact 50-34, with 11-25 on the rear.
What new wheels did you go for?
