The Strava API is a wonderful thing, and there are some very clever people out there doing cool things with it. Relive.cc is no exception!
Relive.cc has one simple trick up it’s sleeve, and it does it beautifully.
Connect your Strava account and the next time you upload some data, it will take your gpx track and produce a Google Earth-like video file, but embellished with info about where your maximum speed happened, where the highest point of the ride occurred, and apparently it brings in any photos too.
It’s a really nice effect and I can imagine that sportive events sites will soon be using these to give a flyby view of their routes.
The only downside is the inevitable boredom that will creep in as people overshare on social media.
There’s a personal interest in viewing a ride that you have completed yourself, but a facebook feed full of other people’s rides in this format will soon get me yawning.
