A quick round up of the sportives I rode in 2012

Cheshire Cat
Billed as the big season opener, 2012 started off with the fantastic Cheshire Cat, back in March. We were blessed with freakishly good weather; bright, sunny and warm. The much hyped Mow Cop was indeed a challenge to many but Dave and I made it up without stopping, and got the medal to prove it!
My blog account of the event.
This was my first outing with the GoPro camera.
Wild Edric
May 2012. The weather wasn’t as nice as the other events, but to be honest we were exceptionally lucky with those. We witnessed quite a nasty crash on this one, which shook us up a bit as it could have so easily involved us too. A very close shave indeed.

Wild Wales
What an awesome day this was. It rained the day before and after, but was miraculous and glorious on the day. A stunning route with the monstrous xanaxlowprice.com Bwlch y Groes climb right at the end. Thought I was gonna die…
My blog account of the day, with a GoPro movie!
Incidentally, the movie appears on the official Wild Wales website.
Etape Cymru
The new organisers got it right, thankfully. A brilliant day all round, echoed by the overwhelmingly positive feedback all over the interwebs in the days following.
The only downside of the day was nothing to do with the event itself. My car broke down and we had to wait hours for the AA after everyone else had finished and left the grounds.
Here’s my movie of the day, I spent longer editing this than ride actually took!
Here’s to 2013
It was hugely rewarding to participate in these events, and a real motivator to have them booked in the calendar in advance. If you’ve never ridden an event like these, get training and go for it. It’s a great experience riding along with hundreds of like-minded crazy fools people.
