Something magical always seems to happen on the Wild Wales Challenge. But could we really out run a steam train?
Life is full of unique moments that stick in the memory, and cycling brings its fair share of standout experiences.
Like the moment we found ourselves racing a steam engine, just outside Porthmadog in North Wales. Having gained ground, a level crossing eventually forced our stop, but the appreciative cheers and waves from the passengers were ample reward for our efforts.
I set the GoPro running as soon as I spotted the train. The entire clip is way too long to include in the film I’ll make of the ride, so I’ll post it here in full.
Tip: for HD quality, toggle the settings up to 720p, or 1080p.
Very cool to see. I thought for a moment there you were going to beat the train!
Thanks – I think we would have if the open road continued!
