It’s not every day that a major bike race passes within a mile of your house, so how could I not pop down to the main road to see the boys fly past? Armed with my trusty camcorder with a slo-mo function, down I went…
There was a nice atmosphere in the village as dozens of people gathered for the event. Yep, it’s a small village. Dozens was a great turn out!
If you’ve ever attended an event like this you’ll know that the build up and excitement is great….
…and then it’s all over in a few seconds.
The Tour of Britain also came through my home town two years ago – see my photos of ToB13 here.

Here’s my little movie of the riders as they flew past today. They had quite a nice tailwind too, so they were gone in a flash. I used the slow mo function on my camera to record at a high frame rate, and then used software to slow it down a bit.
I was using a Panasonic camcorder with slo-mo function, if anyone is interested. My unit seems to have been superseded by this model.
