Just recently I shared why I needed to move the site over to a new host, away from my previous provider, 1&1. I did some speed tests on the new site, and here’s what it said.
I had a list of reasons for wanting to move away from 1&1, and I was amazed at how easy it was to make the change to TSOhost.
Now, I’m paying a lot less per month, for a much better service.
The customer service at TSOhost is outstanding. Trust me, you’d be impressed.
Anyway, here’s some screenshots showing some speed tests I carried out using the Pingdom speed test tool.
Site hosted with 1&1
The screenshot shows a load time of 6.32 seconds, and this is with some plugins deactivated because 1&1 just couldn’t cope with them all!
Site hosted with TSOhost
After moving the site over to TSOhost, I was able to re-activate some of the plugins. You can see the number of requests is higher in this screenshot, but despite that, the page is downloaded in just 2.9 seconds – a lot faster than before. Of course, this isn’t lightning speed compared to some sites, but this is more down to the fact that I’ve probably got way too many plugins and my wordpress installation could benefit from being upgraded to a high quality framework, to really optimise it.
My site imperfections aside, I hope you can see the immediate benefits that I was able to get by moving from 1&1 over to TSOhost.
My wordpress dashboard now loads up and reacts much more quickly than it did before, and it’s become a joy to use once more, rather than worrying if each action was about to break the system.
Goodbye 1&1, hello TSOhost.
I should have done it years ago.
If you’re with a hosting provider that you’re not really happy with, I highly recommend switching to TSOhost. It was so easy to do, I’m saving money, and the site runs better.
Take a look at the various hosting options with TSOhost, and if you are convinced to switch, do remember to use the code SCARLETFIRE to get yourself a 10% discount.
In the interests of transparency, the links to TSOhost in this article are affiliate links. This means that if you buy a package from them, they will pay me a small commission, as a thank you for finding new customers for them. It doesn’t cost you any more (in fact, if you use the discount code, it costs you less) and I’d really appreciate it because it helps me to keep the site running. I would never promote a product or service in this way unless I have personal experience of it and know that it’s great value.
