OS Explorer and Landranger UK maps – summer sale.

Last Modified: April 9, 2017

Now, I love digital mapping, but there’s something irreplaceable about a good old fashioned map that unfolds into a massive sheet of printed paper. The detail, the scale, the touch, the feel, the smell. Ok, stop there. Ordnance Survey have got a sale on OS Explorer and Landranger UK Maps, before they put prices up in July.

You never know when technology is going to let you down. That Garmin or smartphone might look all shiny bling-y but it’s going to be pretty useless if the battery runs down or if it gets dropped in a river or run over by a tractor. In times like those, you’ll be glad you had a good old fashioned paper map as a backup. So, what better than the classic Ordnance Survey, OS Explorer and Landranger UK maps?

A nice 10% discount on OS Explorer and Landranger UK maps during June

The standard prices of the excellent Landranger maps are on the way up. As from July 2014 they will go up in price from £6.99 to £7.99, which will bring them in line with the Explorer series.

Just use this handy search box! Type the name of your town or county into the search box and then click on the “Find your map” button. It should produce some nice relevant results for you.

What’s the difference between Landranger and Explorer UK maps?

  • Explorer are more detailed. Every four centimetres on the map is 1km. Great for walking and cycling.
  • Landranger are less detailed, every two centimetres represents 1km. Great for day trips, and driving about.

Here’s a neat little video that explains a bit more.
