Garmin Edge 520 (performance bundle)

The Edge 520 is a very interesting little beast of a bike GPS!
It’s basically like a slightly limited version of the 810 and 1000.
What’s the difference? Well, it doesn’t have a slot for an SD card, so you can store small sections of map files on it, but the internal memory will never be large enough for a complete map.
It lacks the full on navigation options of the bigger models too, but focuses instead on the performance monitoring aspects.
It also doesn’t do wi-fi, for auto syncing your rides when you get back home.
If you really need a bike GPS which can hold complete maps and provide full navigation, and sync over wifi, you may be more interested in the Edge 810 and Edge 1000.
Strava Live
The Edge 520 is the first model to be released with the much anticipated Strava Live feature. This will allow you to easily store you favourite Strava segments on the device, which will then alert you as you approach the segment in real time, allowing you to race against a virtual partner to try to beat your personal best, or go for the KOM!
The Edge 810 and Edge 1000 are also getting this feature as a software update. Other models (e.g. the Edge 800 and Edge 510 are not getting this upgrade)
