Looking for the cheapest Edge Touring?
Garmin Edge Touring – best prices online
Here are the best prices we can find right now, for the Garmin Touring.
Garmin spotted a bit of a gap in the market when they came up with the Touring model.
This unit offers full on mapping capabilities, but none of the performance monitoring associated with the other models such as the 510, 810 and 1000.
Perhaps more suited to people who’d rather cycle at their own pace, just enjoying the countryside and taking their time, rather than being obsessed with cadence and heart rate figures.
The Touring model has an updated user interface and also was the first of the Edge series to offer roundtrip routing. This allows you to input a desired distance, and the unit will calculate some possible routes for you, which will start and end at the same location. You can even select whether you want a hilly route or a flat one.
The Touring Plus model is also compatible with a heart rate monitor.
What do users of the Edge Touring say?
Excellent basic Cycling GPS with maps!
The maps are a real plus! It’s great to have access to maps not just for the UK but also Europe in case you get lost on an unfamiliar ride or if your touring across Europe. To say you get all these maps and all the other functions it’s quite good value when you compare it to the edge 800/810 which is considerably more expensive.
Sat Nav for your bike!
The Edge Touring concentrates on the basics – navigation – and is extremely simple to use. It also highlights places to eat, sleep etc. along the route just like a car Sat Nav. You can also upload all your rides to Garmin’s Connect website which is pretty cool.
All in all, if you don’t need all the bells and whistles of Garmin’s more expensive models, the Edge Touring is superb, and the asking price is actually very reasonable.
